We built PAWTREK for exactly this scenario. The PF4 feeder includes a built-in backup battery that kicks in automatically when the power cuts out — your pet's scheduled meals continue without any interruption. As for WiFi, any scheduled feeds that were already programmed will still run locally on the device even if the connection drops. You won't be able to access the live camera feed while offline, but the one thing that matters most — the food — keeps coming. When power or WiFi restores, PAWTREK reconnects on its own.

Great question — and one we take seriously. PAWTREK's food chute is designed to accommodate kibble pieces up to 12 mm (roughly ½ inch) in diameter, which covers the vast majority of standard and large-breed dry foods, including most prescription and veterinary diets. We recommend sticking to dry kibble only — wet food, semi-moist treats, or anything sticky can clog the mechanism and won't dispense accurately. If you're unsure about a specific food, just reach out to our support team and we'll tell you exactly what works.

Absolutely. The PAWTREK app lets you set separate feeding schedules for multiple sessions throughout the day, so you can stagger meals and control portions for each feeding window — perfect for managing different animals on different dietary needs. For camera access, up to 10 family members or caregivers can be invited to share the live view simultaneously, just by entering their phone number or email in the app. Your partner, your dog sitter, your mom — everyone who needs eyes on the crew can have them, all at once, without any extra fees.
